Calculation Assumptions

Rates of return

BES is calculated with annual net real returns of 3% Conservative, 5% Balanced and 10% Aggressive. The default scenario is 5% Balanced. Annual real return assumptions for gold and silver are 3% and 7% respectively.

Inflation and payment increase

Annual inflation is assumed to be 31.75%. By default, the monthly mehr payment is assumed to increase by 3% above the inflation rate every year. You can choose a different increase scenario.

Savings calculation

Mehr payments are directed to savings according to the selected BES, gold and silver allocation. Results are estimates based on the stated assumptions.

BES state contribution

A 20% state contribution is applied to contributions directed to BES.

How does the mehr calculator work?

Choose the mehr type (gold, silver or cash) and its amount, then set how much you will pay each month. The tool calculates how many years and months it takes to complete the mehr at today's market prices.

You also decide how payments are split between BES, gold and silver. Using assumptions such as annual inflation, each asset's real return and the 20% state contribution added to BES, the calculation shows the estimated savings at the end of the payment period in the mehr's own unit.
